Also, I have to tell you all about yesterday morning’s church service. Keith and I went to my home church in Walker, Judson Baptist to hear their guest speaker, Big Al. He spoke on God’s mercy and how we have become so spoiled by all of the good things and good situations that God has allowed us that when something bad happens, we often question ‘Where is God now?’ We often blame God for the bad things and the evil in the world. But Christ is sinless. He makes it very clear in his word that Jesus is the spotless lamb. Sin does NOT come from God. The bad, evil stuff is sin and it is NOT God’s fault. It’s our fault, it originates with choices that we make. We shouldn’t be questioning where God is, we should be running to him and falling at his feet at the first sign of evil.

We are so caught up in the things that we have that we don’t realize every single thing is a gift and a blessing from God. Your material possessions are not your right, they are gifts from the Lord. When he  says that he will provide for us, he doesn’t mean that we will have what we WANT, it means we will have what we NEED. We may not get that $800 bag, but he will provide us with love, mercy, and a church family that will help care for us. We need to be THAT church in America. The one that cares for God’s people and is able to part with all of the ‘extra’ when the time comes and truly knows what it means for God to provide for our very basic needs.

So about today’s post. Since, I just ‘preached’ on the unimportance of worldly possessions, I’ll show you some! I truly believe that God wants us to give to others. So in the spirit of giving, these are some fun gifts for the Decorist in your life. Give freely to those around you, but remember to remind each other of the true gift of mercy and salvation that God has given us through Jesus. There is nothing wrong with dressing well, decorating well, and eating well as long as you are ready to drop all of it in service to Christ. With Christ at the center of your life, you will find that you are more than taken care of. The worldly goods are ‘extra’ and should be treated as such.

Find your provision in the Lord.
