Healthy & Happy with Freshpet

This last month or so has been all about keep myself healthy, implementing new routines, and kickstarting my year with a BANG! It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t pass some of these new goals onto my pups. If you didn’t know this about Keith and I, our dogs are our lives. They’re what brought us together as a couple (ok… maybe not completely but we like to give them some credit!) and they keep us smiling. When Keith was in school for his PhD, he made Collins (his chocolate lab) a promise. When he graduated and got a job, he would start feeding her the ‘good stuff’ instead of the bargain dog food she’d been eating.

Well, we are well into our 1st year of ‘adult job’ status and we’re proud to say we’ve made the switch to the good stuff and our dogs are LOVING it. Freshpet foods have been the perfect switch for Collins and Sully! As you can see below, they just can’t get enough!

How cute are my dogs? I would argue to say that they are *hands down* the best dogs in the world! Not always easy to take pictures of, but seriously AWESOME!

One of the biggest problems that we’ve come across when trying to choose the best food for our pups is that Sully (Louis Henry Sullivan the Dog) (LOL) has some allergies. A while back, Keith and I noticed the skin on his belly (and the area around his peen – that’s what we call it – thanks to New Girl for the vocab word) was looking a little dark. Thankfully, Keith had had some experience with this in the past and knew that was a sign of allergies. So after some research and a vet visit, we switch Sully to an (almost) completely grain-free diet. We noticed his skin starting to pink up within a couple days!

Collin’s on the other hand is a TANK. She can eat anything, anytime, anywhere (And she will if you don’t watch her). But other than stinky farts, she doesn’t have any adverse reactions to food. Finding food to feed 2 dogs with VERY different nutritional needs – not to mention the difference in size – was a bit of a challenge.

Cue:  Freshpet

Freshpet offers so many options on types of food so that you can be sure that your pups are getting exactly what they need. They even sent us a grain-free option for Sully. Freshpet is like a home cooked meal for your dogs. In fact, Collins and Sully are probably eating better than Keith and I now! It’s refrigerated so your pet will have the freshest of food at meal times. Plus, Freshpet foods are all natural with  no added chemicals or preservatives. So, you don’t have to worry about your dog having an adverse reaction.

To say that my pups love it is the understatement of the year! Collins was literally sticking her head into the bags before I could even pour it in her bowl. But I’m hearing that that is just the effect that Freshpet has on dogs! To read more about the benefits of switching to Freshpet, head to their website!

Also, you’re going to watch to head to my Instagram to check out the most adorable video of Collins and Sully and their first Freshpet experience. I’ll probably post it later today, so make sure you follow me!
