Powder Blue Sofa

When looking for inspiration for today’s mood board, I ran across this powder blue sofa from Jonathan Adler and instantly fell in LOVE! I knew I had to build a design around it. It screams Cinderella, right? So I paired it with some modern and traditional pieces to really make the blue pop! Check it out.

I have funny story about Jonathan Adler. My junior year of college, my very best friend, Jordin and I had the opportunity to go visit New York City for the first time (the beginning of my love affair with the city), I was already obsessed with Jonathan Adler’s designs. He had a funky yet dainty way of pairing colors and patterns. So when we happened upon a store on the upper east side I had to stop in and buy one of his books. As the store clerk was checking me out, a man came out of the back room and started talking to the girl about an order. I quickly grabbed my bag and headed out the door, only to get 2 blocks away and stop dead in my tracks. I realized that the man behind the counter WAS Jonathan Adler. A quick glance to the back of my book confirmed my realization. I was two feet away, with one of his books in my hand and I walked away. Without a signature or even a hello. But then, I have a history of running away from celebrities (avoid confrontation and you won’t mess up, right?).

Back to the design. I adore the coffee table. Its beautiful right? And pretty affordable as well. I tried to keep everything light and bright which is why I chose a lighter accent chair and a dainty side table. I also included some accessories in this mood board. Because, lets face it, the accessory makes the room just like it makes the outfit.

Possibly my favorite new discovery is T&M Design Shop. I love their artwork. Everything they do is perfection.  Both of these precious prints are from their selection. I hope to score a couple of them for my home pretty soon.
