5 Ways to Wear a Silk Scarf

Those CUTE little silk scarves have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. My mom has a whole milk crate full of fun patterned scarves that she’s collected over the years and I’ve always loved digging around in them to find a fun scarf for my outfits, decor, and in my hair! Who knew that they would come back in style in such a HUGE way? Me! Somehow, I always kinda knew they would.

So since I consider myself a scarf loving/wearing expert, I thought I’d share with you guys 5 different ways that you can wear a silk scarf or a bandana this fall (really, all year long)! Also, I wanted to mention that this new open knit sweater I got from Amazon is SOOOOO GOOODDDD and only $30! Plus it comes in 3 colors and HELLO Prime shipping!

As a Headband

This is the way I’ve probably been wearing my scarves the longest. My sister and I both love a good bandana tied in your hair. Maybe it’s because we’re southern, or because it’s any easy way to add a little something to a simple outfit or hair style. Try tying it in a bow or a knot at the top. You can also always tuck in the edges for a cleaner tied look.

Pro Tip: If your hair is thin, make sure you put a little wave or curl in it because if not, It will be pushed up by the bottom of the scarf on the back of your head. I hope that makes sense!

Around Your Neck

The neckerchief has made a HUGE comeback lately. You’ve probably seen on LOTS of people lately, including me! I love this look for any season. It’s a cute way to add color to a neutral outfit. I have a pretty short neck, but I still like the look on me! If I can pull it off, anyone can.

Pro Tip: Make sure you pull on it a little after you tie it to give yourself a little wiggle room. No need to choke ourself out, ladies. Also, try to fold the edges IN so that they don’t unfold while you’re wearing it!

As a Bracelet

Can’t figure out what jewelry to wear, throw on a bandana. Just double or triple wrap it and tie it up in a  knot. I think this is totally a PRO way to wear it. It takes a little confidence but I LOVE the look.

In Your Ponytail

This style is so 50s and I LOVE it! This has been one that I’ve seen a lot more of this year specifically. I am totally HERE for it! It kind of makes your hair look longer too!

Pro Tip: Pull the scarf through your ponytail holder on the bottom so that if it comes untied, you won’t loose it and so that those pesky silky scarves don’t slip out!

On Your Bag

Sick of carrying the same old handbag? Tie a scarf on it. Some of the biggest names in designer bags (cough cough Louis Vuitton) are famous for adding a scarf on the handles or even wrapping the handles in a scarf. It’s such an easy way to add a little something special to your neutral handbag.

Pro Tip: Try wrapping the handles on a top handle bag! So Cute!
