All white everything interiors are all the rage. They give off a clean, sterile, modern, edgy vibe that a lot of businesses want in their office space. When I walk into a business and a see clean lines, stark black and white contrast, and small pops of color, I think, “Dang, this place is PROFESH, I wanna work with/buy something from them! This white edgy look is also FAB in a home, particularly big cities, loft apartments, and modern architecture. But what if you like this type of design but don’t really have the modern ‘shell’ to work with? ADAPT, BRO!
Think white, but not too much white. Lots of contrast but instead of blacks, use grays. Keep away from cold, hard materials and bring in soft, supple textiles that make the room feel more cozy!
And FUR! Winter is coming, y’all. If you don’t already have fur in your home, get some now! It’s the perfect season and fur is HUGE, I mean GINORMOUS is fashion this year!
Below I’ve put together my take on a Clean, yet Cozy bedroom:
Are you in love? Yep, me too! Every time I post a new room, it has me rethinking my home design(which is that of a poor college student’s fiance).
Step 1: Paint Color. I love Benjamin Moore 2118-30 called Ebony Slate. If I were you, I would only paint the wall behind the bed this dark color! Definitely not the whole room, unless you want it to feel like a dungeon. Hey, whatever works for you! I would paint the other walls a white grey. Not stark white, not grey! Somewhere right in between! If you’re serious about this, comment with your color selection below and I’ll help you decide!
Step 2: Furniture. I went with this white wooden bed, but upholstered would be just as great! It may even make the room feel warmer. For bedding, go with clean and white. This quilted coverlet is from Target! Super affordable and a clean striped pattern.
Keep the pillows on the bed simple. Two grey, one deep pea green. Not too many pillow because we still want the room to look clean, remember?
I used a simple white side table from Target, but you can replace it with the simple white side table of your choice. A metal option would be fab! I topped that with a faceted, aged mirrored lamp! I love the hint of glam it brings into the space.
Every bed needs SOMETHING at the end to set it off. I chose an extremely simple grey tufted bench. And I LOVE it!
Step 3: Fur and Art. Buy a fur throw. You can invest and get a really nice one or you can check HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. I know I’ve seen them there before. This one is from Overstock.com and it is a great deal for such a lux blanket. The art I’m showing here is EXPENSIVE for my taste, but I would save up to buy it! I’ve been eyeing this piece for a while now and thought this was the perfect place to use it. A small pop of that deep magenta sets off the pea green of the pillow quite nicely, i think!
This design has everything you need for a modern, glam, clean, and cozy space. I love the idea to use this as a guest room design!

I LOVE the clean modern look! I struggle with keeping a clean aesthetic because I love too many things and want to showcase them all. :o) I’ve been thinking of painting/wallpapering a grey accent wall in my bedroom. I love the color you have selected and may give it a try.
I really enjoy reading your blog and your designs are eye candy!
Thank you so much! I often have to keep the ‘collector’ inside of me at bay too. Let me know if you go forward with it. I would love to see your finished product!
