A Trip to The Fair Grounds

I grew up going to my local parish fair (in Louisiana) several times every year. Honestly, we made a trip to the fair grounds at least 4 times the week of the fair if not more. And so, I’m 26 years old, and I still feel the need to stop by. It’s the nostalgia of the whole thing. I’m too AWARE to find much pleasure in riding the rickety old fair rides and eating too much fair food will literally make me sick, but I absolutely can’t miss it! So Keith and I (and now Kate) try to make the trip down every year IF we can. This year, it happened to work out.

Shop My Look:

I NEED to tell you guys about this dress. It’s only $30 and comes in several different colors (Here it is in an olive and a blue). It’s one of those -need in your closet- pieces. Not to mention, it’s super comfy and absolutely adorable. It also comes in Petite, Regular, and Tall. I’m wearing the regular (size 6) here, so the petite must be super mini. They also have a maternity option!! Walk, don’t run people! These will sell out SUPER fast!

I’m allllll into the scarf trend this season. I think in a few weeks, I’ll do a scarf edit for you guys and share how to wear them and where to get them! Would you guys like that? This particular one is already sold out – I ordered it like a week ago – BOO! But I linked two options that I would 100% wear with this look as well. Scarf Tip: Pull the scarf through a loop of your pony tail on the bottom and then tie it. That way, you don’t run the risk of it slipping out while you strut down the midway!

If you do happen to wear this look for the fair, do yourself a favor and wear some sliding shorts underneath (these look super comfy). I typically ALWAYS wear shorties under my dresses because I can’t be trusted to remember not to bend over! The wind gusts were getting the best of me on this trip. Plus, If you plan to try out one of the thrilling death machines, you do NOT want to flash the world while you’re possibly being decapitated. (sorry about the negativity, I love rides, but have read to many articles about fair related decapitations!) AND sliding shorts can hold in your gut, while you chow down on deep fried cheesecake or whatever artery clogging dish your heart desires!

What is your favorite fall tradition? Share it with me below. I’m wanting to put together a post of some great fall traditions to start!
