I’m sure just about every single one of you could finish the jingle that starts, “The Best Part of Waking Up.” The iconic Folgers Jingle is an American tradition. If you’re listening to the radio or watching TV and you hear those famous word, you just can’t help but sing along. (I haven’t stopped singing it since I started writing this post) The jingle has been loved by generation after generation and is a pop culture phenomenon. And now YOU have the chance to make it your own!
Folgers, along with country music singer/songwriter Chris Young, is inviting you to embrace the well-known tune and create your own version of it! Supporting musicians is no new venture for Folgers and this is another way that they’re giving back to the millions of hopefuls trying to bust their way into a tight knit industry. This contest is for all aspiring musicians and the winner will get $25,000!!! What a way to kick start a career! Plus the 5 finalists get a one on one mentor session with Chris Young!
So how do you enter? Easy.
Step 1: Write your jingle, record is on video, and submit it on the Folgers Jingle Contest Website. Your jingle has to include the iconic melody and the famous hook, “The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup”! See more details on the website. You have from now until February 27th to enter.
Step 2: Between February 27th and March 19th, Folgers will choose their 5 finalists and those finalist will get their mentoring sessions with Chris Young to perfect their jingles.
Step 3: Voting for the winner will begin March 27th and run through April 24th! Anyone can vote online and every time you vote, you also enter to win prizes up to $10,000!
Step 4: The winner will be announced in May and will get all the glory in addition to $25,000!!!!!!
So you don’t sing?
That’s ok, too! Like I said above, you’ll be able to vote for your favorite starting March 27th and you could win big prizes too! Just because you can’t sing doesn’t mean you can’t participate!
