One of the most tried and true fashion tips of winter is this: When all else fails, wear all black and your favorite coat. It instantly gives you a ‘I’m a successful business woman out of the office on lunch’ vibe. I happen to love that vibe. See for yourself. This blush & black winter look is easily one of my favorites.

This pink coat was an end-of-last-winter purchase and one of my all time favorites. It is just so much fun to throw on over any outfit. And I always get TONS of compliments. Unfortunately, this one is long gone, but I will link a few others for you (here, here, and here). If you don’t own a pastel coat, it’s a must have transitional item for spring. It’s also a great idea for a chic, simple Valentine’s day outfit for those of you not wishing to wear hearts all over your body!
I’m also in the market for a powder blue coat. I think it would be a great addition to my wardrobe. For those of you thinking that a pink coat isn’t the most practical, try this look with your favorite neutral coat like white, camel, or gray! You’ll get the same effect!
