I’ve been getting a lot of requests for posts about workwear lately. The biggest problem with this is that I don’t work in any sort of office setting, unless you count the small corner of my living room that holds my desk and iMac! Even if you do count that as an office, our dress code here is SUPER LAX. Jammies are fine, pants are optional, non sports bras are prohibited (but really…)! But, I want to give you guys what you want and so I’m going to be trying to include appropriate work wear in my outfits occasionaly! When searching for the perfect first piece to feature, I spotted this Corduroy Blazer and KNEW it was perfect for everyone!

Texture is probably one of my FAVORITE things to work with in fashion AND in design. The texture of a piece can TOTALLY change it’s use. For instance, we associate white with spring and summer, right? But if you see white fur or white wool, it’s totally wearable for fall and winter! Corduroy is SO in this season. I saw it all over the Fashion Week Runways (from the comfort of my sofa with longing in my heart)! And in this muted blue color, it’s a total HIT!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this blazer. It’s adorable, it fits well, and its just so darn chic! It actually comes as a full suit if you’re looking for something fun and edgy. You can obviously pair it with jeans like I did, but it would also be fantastic with a pair of skinny trousers or chinos as well for professional wear! Or even over a cute dress. I’m wearing a size 8 here because I wanted it to fit a little big. I would definitely order your ‘larger’ size. Everyone has that right? I have a size (6) and then an ‘I want it to fit a little larger’ size (8)!
I know, I know. I’ve been over wearing these jeans lately, but I can’t help it. I honestly can’t. They’re the only ones that currently fit me and I refuse to buy more until I’m down to pre-pregnancy weight. Which won’t be much longer (check out my recent Whole30 Results here)! These are high waisted and fit SO super well (and are under $30). I’d order a size down. I’m wearing a 6 here and I’m pretty sure I don’t wear a size 6 jean again quite yet. Everything else I’ve tried on has still been an 8!
If you’re looking for a cute small bag to carry around this fall and winter, this one is less than $20! And it’s the cutest texture. It looks a lot like some of the designer bags on the market right now, only is a fraction of the cost! Plus my earrings are only $10 and come in several colors! I have them in 2!!
