An event to end all events! Kate’s thirds birthday party was a smash success! I couldn’t have asked for better!
Kate asked for a ‘Princess Dress-Up’ party. And that’s exactly what she got. It ended up raining for almost a full week before the party AND on the day of, so we ended up moving the whole thing inside, but it turned out awesome!
With the help of Marguerite Melton (party inspiration & planning), Alphalit Jackson, and Tia from Babaloonz, we pulled off the most PERFECT Princess Dress-Up Party ever. Complete with crown decorating, wand making, and Galexie Glister makeup! It was the BEST DAY EVER!
Dear Kate,
I can’t believe you’re three. Only, I absolutely can. You’re smart, witty, beautiful, powerful, brave, and honest! There are so many things I could say about you this year, but I’ll just say that you are STRONG. You withstood all that we (and the world) threw at you. A global pandemic, a brother, lockdown, potty training, no school, dance class, all of the things. WITH GRACE (a little attitude as well)!
The hardest part about being your mom is parenting my own attitude, sassiness, and stubbornness. You’re like looking in a mirror, and I pray everyday that I can be everything my mom was for me, for you. I want you to continue to be strong, independent, and self-sufficient. But I pray you are compassionate, kind, and helpful as well.
Your determination is admirable and I can’t wait to see what you do in the future. I ask you everyday to stop growing up. And you assure me that you can’t stop. You’re reasoning is exactly how I know you’re my tiny clone. ‘I have to grow and be 4 so that I can go to Disney World’! Ok. Maybe just to 4.
