The time has come to reveal one of my favorite projects to date, Max’s Big Boy Bedroom! This transformation feels HUGE to me. The new space is so cozy, inviting, and a perfect space for my boy to grow up.
When we moved into our house last October, we moved the kid’s old furniture into their rooms and didn’t even change out the previous owner’s curtains. Soon after, Max (2 years old at the time) started climbing out of his crib. We tried everything and finally gave up and put his crib mattress on the ground. And the rest is history. He LOVED sleeping on a mattress but I was tired of looking at his eyesore of a room! So I made it a priority to give it the makeover it deserves!
Check out the before photos:
And here is the result! I re-trimmed the space to match the other trim I’ve added in our home. I also added a bead board element with this awesome bead board wallpaper! It was so easy to use and required NO POWER TOOLS!
I’m also so excited to have partnered with Lick Paint on this project for the wallpaper in the closet (see the closet reveal here) and the green paint! I chose the color Green 19 and am SO please with my decision. The top portion of the wall is a custom color that I’ve named ‘Maxed & Relaxed’. See the full post on how I created that color and get the color code here!
I’ve done my best to link everything I can! If you ever have questions about a space, please feel free to email me or contact me on social media. I’m @kassyondesign on Instagram and @kassyrandazzo on Tiktok! I’ve also created a highlight on IG covering the entire process of creating this space.

I just want to take a second to mention that the frames in this room are side of the road trash and Goodwill finds! I love thrifting frames. I just replaced the art inside with some vintage sport photos. Not just any vintage sports photos. The top right is a new paper clipping from when my dad made All American back in the 80s. And the bottom right is a photo of Keith’s dad’s team from college (his dad is second from the left). And the left photo is a photo of my dad’s college team (my dad included) when they won some big game (no idea which one)! I love bringing a little of our family history into this space. it feels special!
I’m in love! I hope you guys are too. Max’s big boy bedroom is ready for him and I can’t wait to see who he becomes! And onto the next…
