My Favorite Interior Design Trends of 2015

2015 is nearing its end and I have to say, it has been a good year for interiors, fashion, and for ME! I launched Kassy On Design, Keith and I got engaged, and we had the most beautiful wedding ever, and the list goes on. But I’ll spare you the whole list of what happened to me and instead, I’ll give you a different list. A list of my favorite interior design trends of 2015. Some of which, I’m sure, will be around for several more years. All of which are FABULOUS!

1. Gallery Walls

The gallery trend is taking large open walls around the world by storm and I couldn’t be happier. I love the fact that you can showcase so many different pieces in one space and make it as personal as you want. Maybe the best part is that you can download printable art from sites like Etsy for as little as $5 each. Then all you need is a nice sleek frame and a nail to hang it on! This trend is here to stay, trust me. So if you haven’t yet, get started on YOUR gallery wall.

2. This Leopard Pillow

The pillow that is in every single one of your favorite blogger’s homes. Leopard became a neutral in 2015 which is great for those of us who adore a nice animal print. The great thing about throw pillows is that they can be replaced as often as you like to match the trends or your style.

3. Blush Pink (Rose Quartz)

Pantone has named Rose Quartz the color of the year for 2016. What Pantone may not know is that it was definitely the color of 2015 as well: in fashion, interiors, and everything in between. If you’ve been following Kassy On Design, you know that I’m obsessed. I think I’ve done a million posts on blush this year (ok… 2, but still). Don’t you just love it? And since pantone has made it official, you can expect Rose Quartz to stick around.

4. Gold Fixtures

Gold has triumphed over its less glamorous silver peer for a couple of years now, but this year we saw a boom in the amount of bathroom, kitchen, and various other fixtures being replaced with gold ones. Fixtures are fairly easy to interchange however, it can certainly get pricy if you do it often. But if you can swing it, I’m all for it. I did it to my bedside tables, and I love it!

5. This Gray and White Rug

This rug is another staple of blogger’s living rooms around the world. I can’t say I didn’t seriously consider buying it as well (and I still might). It’s super simple but really eye-catching. They make it in so many sizes and various styles and designs at multiple price points. It’s definitely a winner for 2015 trends.

6. Fur

Texture is the best way to add style to your space and fur was the go-to of 2015. Blankets, pillows, and accents were used in furs of every style and color. I am a huge fan. Keep on coming fur, keep on coming!

7. Succulents

Succulents are the best way (besides fresh flowers) to bring a little greenery into your home. Designer and bloggers everywhere have figured out how adorable they look and how easy they are to care for and have used this to their benefit. I for one am guilty of buying into this trend. I bought Keith a succulent for his bedside table. We both love it and he fondly refers to it as ‘Marshmellow’ the succulent. Get these precious little creatures and name them. Its fun and fashionable.

8. Marble

Marble is probably my favorite trend of 2015. It has been come back with a vengeance against all granite counters and lackluster ceramics everywhere. One of my favorite places to see it is on coffee and dining room tables. I use it mostly in accents right now, but the sleek look of marble is here to stay.
