ONE for the Money: Kate’s First Birthday Party

We have a ONE year old -nearly- running around our house now and I’m so PUMPED! I thought I’d be sad and nostalgic at this milestone but honestly, I’m really excited for the next year. Kate starts Mother’s Morning Out this week, she ages up to the fun class in nursery, and she’s learning a new word everyday! It’s an exciting time. A few weeks ago, we celebrated her first birthday at my parent’s house in South Louisiana and we had a BLAST. Since we were heading to Disney and my mom would be out of town for Kate’s actual birthday we decided to celebrate early.

The theme was of my own creation and something I had never seen before and couldn’t find anything for on Pinterest, so I had to make it all up. But it was so worth it! One for the Money!!! So I order a bunch of money themed things and went with a  blush, gold, green, and white theme! It turned out so dang cute! I’m going to share lots of photos of the day and also the links for a lot of the things that I used.

Sweet Maine’s in the Walker, LA area did the cake and she absolutely KILLED it! She pulled my vision together perfectly and it was seriously so DELICIOUS!

We used our Ikea highchair but I spray painted the legs gold to match. I ONLY use Rustoleum metallic spray paint. It’s the one that gives the BEST gold color.

Her name cutout it cut from cardboard and spray painted. We actually made this for my baby shower and I’m so glad we kept it!

The treat bags are from Amazon and I cut out and ironed the $ on them and filled them with chocolate coins and fake dollar bills. BTW the fake money looks so real that people were asking if I used real money… HAHAH! NO WAY I’m putting $200 in one dollar on a table at a party…

For the balloon garland, I used the balloon arch tape stuff from Amazon and it worked like a dream. I used the balloon glue dots to added weight to the bottom in the form of more balloons. The heat made the balloons deflate a bit and pop as well so the finished product was even less voluptuous than it was originally. Here are the two videos that I watched to help me get a better understanding of what to do! It turned out even better than I expected.
