Happy New Year! To celebrate the dawning of a new year, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite memories of 2015. SPOILER ALERT: I’m a total nerd and I’m in rare nerd form every fall when the Louisiana Renaissance Fest comes to town. I’ve been going since I was a little girl and it gets better and better every year. I’m just glad that I have awesome nerdy friends who find it just as exciting as I do.
As for the outfit? I always shoot for comfort when heading back in time to the Renaissance. This time I found great comfort in my husbands J. Crew Slim Fit Oxford Shirt. It was the perfect oversized, comfy option. As you can see, I slayed many a dragon, drank many an ale (cream soda, YAAASSS), and kissed a very handsome knight in shining armor (more like a shining navy blue t-shirt).
Side Note: From the look of these pictures, you can obviously tell that my photographer is my best friend and that she doesn’t take me seriously at all…
As you can tell, we had a BLAST! Like I said before, the shirt is a men’s slim fit oxford shirt from J. Crew. Keith wears a medium, so that’s what I’m wearing. Seriously, though, if your guy needs some nice button-ups, J. Crew Slim Fit is where it’s AT! They are affordable (especially at the outlet) and the slim cut works wonders for a slimmer guy and wonderFUL for a slimmer guy’s wife.
The puffer vest is also J.Crew. It comes in several colors and it is awesome quality. I have no doubt it’ll last me years. Old Navy Rockstar jeans per usual and my OLD Steve Madden riding boots. The Ren Fest gets kind of dusty at times so I didn’t want to risk the suede or the new leather of my latest boots. I linked a similar pair below for those of you looking for something just like those.
The bag is old, I linked a similar option. And the flower crown, you ask? My own handiwork. I am so proud of myself for sitting still long enough to complete it. It was fairly easy but definitely time consuming. If you’d like to see a tutorial, comment below and I’ll do one soon!
