When Meg called to inquire about having me work on her newly purchased home, I had no idea that it would lead to a series of full projects in their home. Meg’s Hall bath is, hopefully, the first of many room makeovers and I’m thrilled with how it came out. And I think Meg, and her husband, Bradley, are as well!
Let’s start with some before photos!
Meg’s house was built in the early 2000s and to be frank, it shows. This hall bath being one of the most obvious indicators. The photos above are AFTER the dark maroon and gold damask wallpaper had been removed, so you can only imagine what it looked like when they first viewed the home. By the time I arrived, it was a blank slate ready to go!
Here is what she looks like now!
We started by deciding to add some beautiful picture frame moulding on the walls in a muted blue. I was able to talk them into a countertop replacement (which they are THRILLED with) and we came up with a traditional, feminine overarching design theme. The warm, mid toned wood accents complement the feminine design but bring some warmth into the space. It wasn’t in the budget to replace the flooring in this space, so choosing a color palette that wouldn’t clash was important. Now that it’s finished, I feel the floors are much less ‘offensive’ than they were before we started! YAY for an unplanned success!!
It turned out even better than I hoped and I’m so thankful to be able to share this design and all the sources with you guys. I’ve done my best to link everything shown. The blue is a custom color thatI will share below, the counter top is Prestige Stone 3cm Italian Alps, and the finish on the fixtures is Polished Nickel.
I also had the pleasure of working with Ginger Williams Cook on choosing some fabulous art for this room. Ginger is an AMAZING and well known artist from the Jackson area and she and Meg have known each other since their school days. I’m super lucky to have the opportunity to style some of her originals in this space and hope to do it again in the future!
