Purple & Gold

I’m sure you’ve got a pretty bad case of the Monday’s today, right? Here in Baton Rouge, we are extremely down. Our ruthless defeat by Alabama this weekend has everyone strangely quiet. Embarrassed is more like it. We LSU fans sure can talk a lot of smack. The only problem is that our dignity is then placed in the very large hands of a group of physically excellent young men. This week, they didn’t succeed, but they fought the good fight, just like they always do.

This dreary Monday, I want to remind all of my fellow Tigers that hope is not gone. The Purple and Gold with rise again. And with that in mind, I’ve decided to share a shameless GEAUX TIGERS interior color scheme.

purple and gold

Most people is South Louisiana shy away from the Purple/Gold combo unless its associated with LSU. But I’m here to say that you can totally incorporate your love for the Tigers into your everyday decor. You’re man will probably LOVE it. Because, let’s be honest, most men I know from around Baton Rouge are constantly trying to sneak LSU paraphernalia into their home decor.

If you’re the kind of person who put’s their foot down on college merchandise hanging in your living room, you may opt for sending it to the ‘man cave’ or the ‘game room.’ Maybe this is your solution to include school spirit in your decor while still keeping it chic.

This would be a great compromise for new couples who are fighting over whether you can keep the LSU bed sheets or not. COMPROMISE. It’s what makes the world go ’round.

A neutral sofa paired with that RAD golden yellow chair (which also comes in purple incase you wan to switch it up). Purple rug and accent pillows to round it all out. Gold accent pieces are everywhere these days so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding some that you like.

I love these purple agate coasters. I just bought some  (mine are a set of 4 different colors) for my side tables in the bedroom. They are a fancy little touch, I think.

Thankfully Keith isn’t adamant about including our Alma Mater in our everyday decor so I have a bit more freedom with color, but this look has me looking at this complimentary color scheme in a whole new light. It’s a pretty fabulous light too!
