Using Plug-In Wall Sconces

It’s no secret that I have a thing for sconces. With that being said, I moved into the RIGHT house. Because we have exposed ceilings, there is virtually no attic and that means very few ceiling lights. But there are sconces EVERYWHERE! And I’ve even added more both in my bedroom and the guest room!

A wall sconce provides a slightly different look as opposed to your usual table lamp. Not to mention the space you save on the actual table is AMAZING. In both of the spaces, the nightstands are pretty small with limited if any drawer storage. So using a light mounted to the wall is a GREAT solution.

The worst part about wanting to add a sconce to a space is getting power to said sconce. In a perfect world, you would hire an electrician to add boxes for your sconce that connected to a light switch and worked perfectly and seamlessly. In my experience, have an electrician do this can cost up to $200 per sconce. That wasn’t in my budget for either of these projects and so I opted to find sconces with a plug in feature!

The good news is that there are so many more fantastic sconces with the plug in feature nowadays! I’ve rounded up several of my favorite at different price points but all under $150 each! Talk about elevating your space with a VERY simple fix!

The rattan ones that I used in my bedroom are out of stock and not showing hope of return date, although I will keep them in my sights just in case! But #7 and #9 are great alternatives! The sconces from my guest room were purchase locally on clearance. But when I was designing the guest room, I was in love with #4. It then that I realized I already OWN the gold ones you see in the photo! It was the perfect substitution. I LOVE shopping my own home!
